IPL for Fine Lines and Wrinkles

Fine lines and early wrinkles are often among the first visible signs of skin ageing, especially when combined with uneven tone and sun-induced pigmentation. At KGA, we use IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) technology via the Cutera XEO device to gently stimulate collagen, improve skin tone and reduce the visible signs of ageing.

While IPL is best known for treating pigmentation and redness, it also plays a key role in supporting skin firmness and structure. By delivering targeted light energy deep into the dermis, IPL triggers a natural healing response that strengthens collagen and improves skin texture over time. It is an excellent option for patients looking to address early ageing signs in a non-invasive, skin-first way.

Stimulates collagen, smooths texture and restores youthful skin clarity without injectables.

Pre & Post Treatment Care

Before treatment, avoid sun exposure and fake tanning for at least 2 weeks. Discontinue use of retinol, AHAs, BHAs and vitamin C serums 3 to 5 days prior. If you are using prescription skincare or have had recent laser or peel treatments, let us know in advance. On the day, arrive with clean, product-free skin.

After treatment, the skin may feel warm and slightly red, similar to a mild sunburn. Some light flaking or darkening of pigmentation may occur. Avoid heat, intense exercise, exfoliants and active skincare for several days. Apply a gentle moisturiser and use SPF every day to protect and support collagen regeneration.

Frequently Asked Questions

IPL stimulates collagen production by delivering light energy into the dermis, improving skin density and texture over time.

Not exactly. IPL does not remove layers of skin but works by heating the lower layers to trigger collagen. It is gentler than ablative lasers and has minimal downtime.

Common areas include the face, neck, décolletage and hands. Anywhere with signs of early ageing and sun damage can benefit from treatment.

For collagen stimulation, a course of 3 to 4 sessions is usually recommended. Maintenance sessions every 6 to 12 months can help prolong results.

You may feel a brief snapping or heat sensation. Most patients find the treatment comfortable, especially with the integrated cooling system.
